Viggen Rescue Kit, £518. Part Number: DCH002B (LHD Cars)

Note: The Viggen Rescue Kit fits ALL 9-3 Models, but was named after the car that inspired us to develop it.

The SAAB 9-3 & 9-3 Viggen

Despite less than favourable press reports, particularly for the most powerful Viggen model, all the 9-3 models are great cars, combining good looks with a superb cockpit and seamless power. However, it is compromised by a less than perfect chassis, which should have never been the case, given the resource put into it!

Racing the 900 (1994-1997) and the 9-3 (1998), gave us a unique insight into the workings of the suspension. By drawing on this experience we have been able to put together the "Viggen Rescue Kit". This kit very simply transforms any 9-3 or 9-3 Viggen into the car it should have been from the factory. These are not our words, but the echo of many statements from owners around the world.

Cars from every continent of the world have benefited from fitting our kit. We bought a Viggen simply to prove that all the shortcomings of the chassis could be resolved. Our 9-3 Viggen is now the best SAAB we have ever driven. The fitting of the specially developed 18mm rear roll bar has been a major improvement to road-holding, and high-speed stability.

The kit comprises the four items below (these can also be purchased separately) which normally cost £645 as single items, purchasing an entire rescue kit at £545 saves you £100!

Read what customers and motoring press say about our Viggen Rescue Kit...

"The mods make a difference, steering is greatly improved", Autocar, April 2000.

"Chassis feels more taut, controlled and incisive", EVO, February 2000.

"The reduction in torque steer is near total", CAR, December 1999.

"Steers more accurately", Auto Express, March 2000.

"I Cannot believe it is the same car, handling and steering far better", M.Adams, June 2000.

Steering Rack Clamp / Bulkhead Brace, Normally £199.

The steering rack clamp is made from billet alloy, and the bulkhead brace, stainless steel. Together, these items eliminate steering rack movement and bulkhead flex under hard load, giving major improvements in steering feel, and precision. Torque steer is also further reduced.

Polyurethane Track Control Arm Bushes, Normally £75.

These reduce the significant fore/aft movement of the front wheels - as much as 10mm in either direction, and give road holding and torque-steer benefits.

Support Arm Bearing Kit, Normally £145.

Standard rubber items at the rear of the suspension arms are reasonably stiff, but not stiff enough for more than 180Bhp, let alone the 230Bhp the Viggen delivers. Our bearing kit is Motorsport standard, allowing articulation in the correct axis, but with zero fore/aft movement. Improved Steering precision and reduction in torque steer are the benifits.

Stainless Steel Subframe Brace, Normally £105.

From our Motorsport experience we know the Subframe flexes under extreme loads. Our brace reinforces the Subframe to provide more robust support for the suspension pickups. Improvements in traction, and roadholding.

Note: Ground Clearance is reduced by 25mm after fitting this brace, but this is perfectly acceptable under normal conditions.
